Recap: Iowa Colony Pioneers vs. Stafford Spartans
It was a good run, but the Iowa Colony Pioneers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 55-46 to Stafford. While losing is never fun, Iowa Colony can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while Stafford is ranked 93rd).
Despite the loss, Iowa Colony still got an impressive performance from BJ Gill, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. The match was Gill's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daylen Dalcour, who scored six points.
Iowa Colony's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Stafford, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Columbia the next time they take the court. Stafford will head out to face Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Iowa Colony will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
