Softball Recap: Warren Central Dragons vs. South Warren Spartans
Warren Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 15-0 to the South Warren Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Warren Central of the 19-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on May 2nd.
For South Warren's part, Courtney Norwood was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Norwood has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive pitching appearances. Norwood was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-1 with a home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, Hayden Holloway was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and a double while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Hadley Borders, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.
Warren Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-30. As for South Warren, their win bumped their record up to 33-3.
