Baseball Recap: St. Louis Homeschool P Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

The St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots beat the Chester Yellowjackets 5-2 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Haverly Cox looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Camden Rodriguez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vinny Tornatore, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

St. Louis HomeSchool P pushed their record up to 23-16 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Chester, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-12.

St. Louis HomeSchool P has already played their next game, a 12-2 victory against East Alton-Wood River on the 15th. As for Chester, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Carlyle on the 15th.
