Baseball Recap: Rock Canyon Comes Up Short

Rock Canyon blew Ponderosa out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Ponderosa got their revenge. The Jaguars fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 12-10. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Rock Canyon saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damian Fischer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Fischer has become a key player for the Jaguars: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another was Colton Duman, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Rock Canyon has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Ponderosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

While Rock Canyon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
