Basketball Game Preview: Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions vs. Althoff Catholic Crusaders

The Christ Our Rock Lutheran Silver Stallions will challenge the Althoff Catholic Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Christ Our Rock Lutheran comes in on five and Althoff Catholic on eight.

Last Tuesday, Christ Our Rock Lutheran earned a 59-48 victory over Maryville Christian.

Meanwhile, Althoff Catholic humbled Marquette Catholic with a 69-42 victory. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Explorers are ranked 323rd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Althoff Catholic is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Christ Our Rock Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 10-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Christ Our Rock Lutheran might still be hurting after the 71-46 defeat they got from Althoff Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Christ Our Rock Lutheran avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
