Volleyball Recap: Westminster Academy Takes a Loss

Westminster Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Marco Island Academy Rays.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-14, 25-17.

Marco Island Academy can attribute much of their success to Sophia Ogdin, who had 16 digs and five aces. That's the most digs Ogdin has posted since back in October of 2024.

Westminster Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Marco Island Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Westminster Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Sports Leadership & Management at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The match will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Marco Island Academy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Oasis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
