Basketball Recap: Kell Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Kell can now relate to. They took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackson Jaguars. The Longhorns lost against the Jaguars in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 72-45 score last time.

Journey Conley was a one-woman wrecking crew for Jackson as she dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten boards. The contest was Conley's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Aaliyah Weaver was another key player, going 5-for-10 on her way to 11 points and three steals.

Kell's loss dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Jackson, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.

Kell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jackson, they will venture away from home to face off against Northview at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northview knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Jackson likes a good challenge.
