Basketball Recap: Lakeside Skates Past Post Falls with Ease

On Monday, Lakeside faced Post Falls in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lakeside Knights claimed a resounding 84-42 win over the Post Falls Trojans. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Lakeside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyson Charley led the charge by shooting 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropping a triple-double on 26 points, ten boards, and 11 assists. Charley is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Hallah Peone, who went 9 of 13 en route to 25 points and four steals.

Lakeside pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.0 points per game. As for Post Falls, they moved to 4-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Lakeside will take on Genesis Prep Academy in a holiday battle at at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Post Falls and Sandpoint will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Post Falls is facing Sandpoint at the right time seeing as Sandpoint is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
