Softball Recap: Hallettsville's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hallettsville extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 22-4 in the process. Everything went their way against the El Campo Ricebirds as they made off with an 11-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Brahmas, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Addison Matula, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Alaina Halata was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

As for El Campo, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-7-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this game were averaging 3.96 runs allowed.

On El Campo's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlee Bubela, who fired off two home runs while going 3-for-4.

Hallettsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for El Campo, they will head out to face off against Calhoun at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
