Softball Preview: Rogers Rams vs. South Kitsap Wolves        
        
		
            
 Rogers and South Kitsap are an even 5-5 against one another  since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Rogers Rams are on the road again  on Friday to play the South Kitsap Wolves at 4:00  p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
 Rogers was handed a two-point  defeat in their last  contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Bethel  on Monday. Rogers put the hurt on Bethel with a sharp  20-1 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest  win Rogers has managed all season.
  Raygun Klippert made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Klippert was also big at the plate,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Klippert is crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: she's   stolen at least one every time she's  taken the field this season.
 In other batting news,  Ryan Breer was  incredible,  going 2-for-5 with a  home run, seven  RBI,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Mackenzie Simon, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, South Kitsap has not done well against Puyallup recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Wednesday. South Kitsap was the clear victor by  a  16-2 margin over Puyallup. Considering South Kitsap has won three matchups by more than 13  runs this season,  Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
 Like Rogers, South Kitsap also got a great game from a two-way player:  Kamdyn Hagerty. She  struck out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   three  hits. Hagerty was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI and a  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Madi Aaenson, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-3.  Reagan Dale was another key contributor,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI.
 Rogers' record is now 3-1. As for South Kitsap, their record is now 3-1.
 Rogers suffered a grim  13-2 defeat to South Kitsap  when the teams last played  back in May of 2023. Can Rogers avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
