Recap: Vienna Eagles vs. Iberia Rangers
Even though the Vienna Eagles have not done well against the Iberia Rangers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Vienna escaped with a win against Iberia by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53. This was payback for Vienna, who suffered a 44-28 loss the last time these two teams met.
Iberia lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alexa Rowden, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. The contest was Rowden's third in a row with at least ten points. Acelyn Bauer was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Even though they lost, Iberia were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Vienna's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Iberia, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Versailles the next time they take the court. Iberia will head out to face Versailles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Vienna will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
