Baseball Recap: Piute Falls Short of Panguitch in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Piute couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Panguitch Bobcats on Saturday, falling 12-2. The Thunderbirds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 8-5.

Piute saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake Dalton, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Dalton is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Piute moved to 17-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Panguitch, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bobcats beat Piute by a score of 10-9 later that day.
