Baseball Recap: Orange Glen Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Orange Glen entered their tilt with Army-Navy on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Warriors 9-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-6 back in March.

Nicki Cardenas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2025.

In other batting news, Isaac Martinez and Rodrigo Rojas did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Rojas went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Martinez a new career-high. Jan Carlo Parra-Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Orange Glen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.

Orange Glen's record is now 10-8. As for Army-Navy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-14.

Looking ahead, Orange Glen will face off against Guajome Park Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Army-Navy, they will challenge Escondido Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the White Tigers have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season.
