Basketball Recap: Rensselaer Central Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Rensselaer Central hadn't done well against Kankakee Valley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rensselaer Central Bombers really took it to the Kankakee Valley Kougars for the full four quarters, racking up an 83-40 victory. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 26 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Taylor Van Meter, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Kamri Rowland was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Rensselaer Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Kankakee Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Haley Anderson and Jenna Walker. Anderson posted 11 points, while Walker scored eight points. Anderson continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Annie Lindberg also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.
