            Basketball Recap: Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks vs. Omaha Central Eagles        
        
		
        
        
            Lincoln Southwest was the  54-38 winner over Omaha Central when they last played one another  back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks fell just short of the Omaha Central Eagles by a score of  57-55 on Thursday.

 Despite the  defeat, Lincoln Southwest saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Kaytee Irons-Buettner  dropped  a double-double with 23  points and ten  boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most  points  Irons-Buettner has scored all season.  Hayden Rathe was another key player,  putting up ten points and six  rebounds.
 Omaha Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Aalaiya Davis led the charge by  posting 12  points in addition to five  boards and three  steals. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to  three-point shooting accuracy, as she's  posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Justine Tcheuhchoua, who  went 6-for-13  to rack up 12 points and six  rebounds.
Lincoln Southwest dropped their record down to 15-7 with the  loss, which was their third straight  at home. As for Omaha Central, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11 record  this season.
As of now, neither Lincoln Southwest nor Omaha Central have any future games scheduled.
