Sullivan proved they can win big last Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Central A & M Raiders. The Redskins haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Aeralyn Thrasher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on 14 hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Harmony Ray was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Piper Conlin was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Sullivan's record is now 8-3. As for Central A & M, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
Sullivan is taking a road trip to face off against Teutopolis at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central A & M, they will host St. Teresa at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
