Baseball Recap: Biggs Find Success

Biggs won the last time they faced Hamilton and things went their way on Friday too. The Wolverines walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Braves. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

Matthew Martin made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Biggs is undefeated when Martin posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, David Ibarra was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Martin, who earned three RBI.

Biggs' win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Hamilton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-8.

Biggs has already played their next matchup, a 4-3 victory against Portola on the 9th. As for Hamilton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-1 loss against Maxwell on the 6th.
