Sheldon had lost three straight, but after bumping their record up to 3-4-1 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the South Medford Panthers 3-2. This was payback for the Irish, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

As for South Medford, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For South Medford's part, Easton Douglas and Keegan Painter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Douglas went 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI, while Painter got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Painter is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Coming up, Sheldon will head out on the road to challenge Sprague at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Medford will be paying especially close attention to the Irish's matchup: after the Irish face off against the Olympians, they'll take on South Medford again at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
