Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Patriots vs. Mercer Island Islanders

The Liberty Patriots will take on the Mercer Island Islanders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Liberty lost 14-5 to Bothell on Monday.

Ryan Boehm was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Trevor Snow also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Mercer Island came up short against Juanita on Monday, falling 12-6.

Ethan Nguyen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Gabe Lopez, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Mercer Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1.

Liberty couldn't quite finish off Mercer Island in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can Liberty avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
