Basketball Recap: Adrian Luna's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Santa Teresa over Deming

Santa Teresa lost against Deming last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Santa Teresa Desert Warriors lost to the Deming Wildcats on the road by a 63-46 margin.

Several Desert Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adrian Luna, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Yishai Sandoval, who scored six points and five rebounds.

Santa Teresa has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. Deming is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-21 record this season.

Coincidentally, Santa Teresa and Deming will both be playing Chaparral the next time they take the court. Santa Teresa will head out to face Chaparral at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Deming will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
