Basketball Recap: Mineral Wells Finds Home Court Redemption Against Odessa

There's no place like home for Mineral Wells, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Odessa Bronchos by a score of 37-30 on Thursday. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while the Bronchos are ranked 905th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kahlea Samples was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addyson Moore, who posted 11 points.

Mineral Wells' victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Odessa, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Mineral Wells didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-27 loss against Fredericksburg on the 13th. As for Odessa, they will be taking part in a tournament against Stephenville at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
