Baseball Recap: Sebastian River Sets Scoring Season-High Against Westwood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sebastian River). Everything went their way against the Westwood Panthers on Friday as they made off with a 13-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Thomas Villars was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Zayden Figuerora was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Sebastian River always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Sebastian River's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-13. As for Westwood, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Sebastian River will challenge Port St. Lucie at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Westwood, they will head out to take on Okeechobee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
