Baseball Game Preview: Holy Cross Knights vs. Geneva Eagles

While Holy Cross' victory against Incarnate Word Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Angels 11-9. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Angels recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Geneva made easy work of John Paul II on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Geneva is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Holy Cross, their win bumped their record up to 9-5-2.
