Basketball Game Preview: Augusta Beavers vs. Osseo-Fairchild Thunder

Augusta is on a seven-game streak of home losses also dating back to last season, Osseo-Fairchild a five-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Tuesday. The Augusta Beavers will welcome the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Augusta came up short against Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran and fell 60-47. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while the Lancers are ranked 166th).

Meanwhile, Osseo-Fairchild came up short against Melrose-Mindoro on Thursday, falling 63-41.

Osseo-Fairchild's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Augusta, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.

Augusta didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Osseo-Fairchild in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 73-67 victory. Will Augusta repeat their success, or does Osseo-Fairchild have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
