Soccer Game Preview: Irmo vs. Blythewood

The Irmo Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Blythewood Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Irmo's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over May River. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Yellow Jackets were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blythewood). They blew past Westwood 12-0 on Tuesday. The Bengals haven't had any issues with the Redhawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Irmo is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matches. Blythewood's victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
