Softball Recap: Sandia Takes a Loss

Sandia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-2 to the Cibola Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Matadors of the 4-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Sandia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Gutierrez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Sandia's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cibola, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Sandia will venture away from home to face off against Albuquerque at 8:00 a.m. on March 13th. As for Cibola, they will take on Eldorado at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
