The Timberline Wolves will take on the Capital Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Timberline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Centennial, who was ranked 16th at the time (Timberline was ranked 23rd). The Wolves fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday.
Seth Dallolio was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.
On the hitting side, Timberline saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Mills, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another was Will Nafzger, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Capital). They blew past Boise 16-9 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Brave since April 19, 2022.
Preston Christianson was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Capital: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Pirnie, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Capital kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Capital pushed their record up to 11-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Timberline, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.
Timberline came up short against Capital when the teams last played back in March of 2025, falling 9-5. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
