Softball Recap: Riverton Hawks vs. North Mac Panthers

Riverton had lost ten straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-19 to make it 11. They came up short against the North Mac Panthers, falling 12-4. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 21-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Allayah Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Lily Lock was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for North Mac, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-17-1. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On North Mac's side, Taylor Keirs was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Keirs has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. Looking ahead, Riverton will be playing in front of their home fans against Argenta-Oreana at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Mac, they will head out on the road to challenge Pana at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
