Baseball Game Preview: Oakville Acorns vs. Ocosta Wildcats

The Oakville Acorns will venture away from home to face off against the Ocosta Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Oakville's last matchup with Naselle could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Acorns came up short against the Comets, falling 13-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Acorns were not able to get on the board.

Oakville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Koner Burnett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Burnett has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Meanwhile, Ocosta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 11-0 to Ilwaco.

Oakville has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Ocosta, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Oakville couldn't quite get it done against Ocosta when the teams last played back in March as they fell 9-6. Can the Acorns avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
