Softball Game Preview: Girls Prep Bruisers vs. Hixson Wildcats

The Girls Prep Bruisers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Hixson Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Tuesday, Girls Prep came up short against East Hamilton and fell 9-5.

Jayla Gladden made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Calieah Reyes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hixson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Cleveland, falling 10-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since March 23, 2024.

Hixson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Turner, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Girls Prep now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Hixson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
