Basketball Recap: Vail Christian Saints vs. Custer County Bobcats
Vail Christian was the 54-40 winner over Custer County when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Vail Christian Saints lost 54-33 to the Custer County Bobcats on Wednesday. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jack O'Shaugnessy, who posted eight points and 11 boards. O'Shaugnessy has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher Leonard, who put up nine points in addition to five boards and five steals.
Even though they lost, Vail Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Custer County only racked up two assists.

Vail Christian suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 7-7. As for Custer County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Vail Christian has already played their next contest, a 59-46 victory against North Park on the 15th. As for Custer County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 47-44 win against Sargent on the 14th.
