Soccer Game Preview: Jarrell vs. Midway

The Jarrell Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Midway Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a proper cat-fight when Jarrell faced off against Temple on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 2-1. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Jarrell couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Midway unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. 2026 welcomed they with a 3-0 loss courtesy of McNeil on Thursday.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jarrell fell to 1-1-1. As for Midway, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Jarrell suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Midway when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
