With a playoff game on the line, Bloomfield rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Clay City Eels and snuck past 4-2. The win was some much needed relief for Bloomfield as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Boone Holtsclaw made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Holtsclaw has been consistent recently: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Holtsclaw was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
