Basketball Recap: Ifeanyi Ezeala's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Horeb Christian over Hialeah-Miami Lakes

Horeb Christian lost against Hialeah-Miami Lakes back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Horeb Christian Mustangs fell 59-52 to the Hialeah-Miami Lakes Trojans. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Horeb Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ifeanyi Ezeala, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That's the most points Ezeala has posted since back in February of 2024. Jonathan Gonzalez was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Horeb Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-8 record.

Horeb Christian will square off against Abundant Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Horeb Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season. As for Hialeah-Miami Lakes, they will challenge Miami Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hialeah-Miami Lakes is facing Miami Springs at the right time seeing as Miami Springs is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
