Granada and Amador Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Matadors will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Dons at 4:00 p.m. Granada will be strutting in after a win while Amador Valley will be coming in after a loss.

Granada was handed a nine-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Livermore, sneaking past 3-2.

Ella Vonbergen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Delaney Aumua, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Amador Valley was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of Foothill by a score of 2-1. Dons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Falcons since on Wednesday.

Amador Valley also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Kaylee Davis gave up just two earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Davis.

Granada now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Amador Valley, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Granada hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Amador Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
