Softball Recap: Orangefield Beats Hardin for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Orangefield had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hardin Hornets with a sharp 17-5 win. Considering the Bobcats have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Orangefield's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Hardin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Orangefield will face off against rival Kirbyville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Orangefield 1.9, Kirbyville 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Hardin is set to square off against their familiar foe Anahuac at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
