Baseball Recap: Newfield Comes Up Short

Longwood hit Newfield with a nine-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines lost 12-2 to the Lions. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caiden Davis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

Newfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Longwood, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-2.

Newfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Longwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Brentwood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
