Basketball Game Preview: Timberline Wolves vs. Kuna Kavemen

The Timberline Wolves will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Kuna Kavemen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Timberline has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.

On Saturday, Timberline needed a bit of extra time to put away Preston. They escaped with a win against the Indians by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. That's two games straight that the Wolves have won by just one point.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kuna). They walked away with a 60-48 win over Birmingham on Friday. Given the Kavemen's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Idaho, while the Patriots are ranked 498th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Timberline has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Kuna, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Timberline beat Kuna 53-44 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Timberline have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kuna turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
