League recap: Wilkinson County Christian tops Cenla Christian Academy to extend winning streak

Wilkinson County Christian extended the longest winning streak in MAIS A District 3 this week by beating Cenla Christian Academy, 37-18. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Rams.

Glenbrook's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Regan Edwards threw for 357 and four touchdowns and Maurice Moore had 208 yards receiving. On the ground William Thompson chipped in 37 yards. Jalen Patterson helped Glenbrook's passing attack out by catching four balls for 68 yards.

The Apaches' Edwards and Moore have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Edwards has thrown for 2660 yards this season, while Moore, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 27 catches for 811 yards. La'Montrell Goudeau from Cenla Christian Academy leads the league in rushing with 1034 yards.

Glenbrook made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,903 from 12,114. The advance stemmed from a 32-12 victory over Claiborne Academy last week.
