Baseball Preview: Sehome Mariners vs. Sedro-Woolley Cubs
Sehome and Sedro-Woolley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Mariners will square off against the Cubs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sehome has four straight victories, Sedro-Woolley has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Sehome made easy work of Lakewood and carried off an 8-2 win.

Hudson Neff was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Sehome is 3-1 when Neff posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Goodman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Sedro-Woolley fell victim to Mount Vernon and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Bulldogs. The shutout was out of character for the Cubs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.
Sehome now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Sedro-Woolley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Sehome might still be hurting after the 13-4 loss they got from Sedro-Woolley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Mariners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
