Softball Recap: Benicia Comes Up Short

Benicia lost against Clayton Valley Charter back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers fell 6-3 to the Ugly Eagles. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Benicia saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kloie Ruiz, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Ruiz has hit this season. Another was Arielle Der, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Benicia's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-1 record this season.

Benicia has already played their next game, a 17-0 win against Acalanes on the 6th. As for Clayton Valley Charter, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 6-5 victory against Alhambra on the 6th.
