Baseball Game Preview: Muhlenberg Muhls vs. Governor Mifflin Mustangs

Muhlenberg is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Wednesday. They are taking a road trip to take on the Governor Mifflin Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Muhlenberg was able to grind out a solid victory over Lancaster Catholic, taking the game 5-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Muhls.

The team relied heavily on Eli Keller, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Burr, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, on Monday Governor Mifflin's undefeated season almost came to an end. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Elizabethtown.

Governor Mifflin pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Muhlenberg, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Muhlenberg might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Governor Mifflin when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Muhlenberg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
