Soccer Game Preview: Independence vs. Centennial

The Independence Patriots will face off against the Centennial Coyotes at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Independence kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Willow Canyon by a score of 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Independence in their meetings with Willow Canyon: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Centennial unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Willow Canyon by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

Independence skirted past Centennial 1-0 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Coyotes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
