Softball Recap: Modesto Panthers vs. Gregori Jaguars

Modesto lost against Gregori back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Modesto Panthers lost 12-5 to the Gregori Jaguars. Modesto has not had much luck with Gregori recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Ariana Arellano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Ramirez, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, Modesto didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with seven strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gregori only tossed three.

On Gregori's side, Allyson Conway spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Gregori let Alyssa Blanco and Kylee Huff loose on the outfield. Blanco scored two runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Huff scored a run while going 3-for-5. Huff has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Castro, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.
