Soccer Game Preview: Arcata vs. Head-Royce

The Arcata Tigers will square off against the Head-Royce Jayhawks at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Arcata sitting on three straight victories and Head-Royce on six.

Arcata is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Fortuna a 2-0 shutout.

Kai MacDonald and Windston Stratton scored both of Arcata's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Head-Royce faced Bentley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Jayhawks walked away with a 4-2 win over the Phoenix. Four seems to be a good number for Head-Royce as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Arcata's win bumped their record up to 15-2-5. As for Head-Royce, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.

Arcata couldn't quite get it done against Head-Royce in their previous matchup back in August as they fell 2-0. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
