It's playoff time, and Santiago had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Woodcrest Christian Royals by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The victory was nothing new for the Sharks as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Santiago had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-16, 28-26, 25-22.

Elijah Tajo was the offensive standout of the contest as he had 13 digs and one assist. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April.

Despite the loss, Woodcrest Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aiden Ahlberg had 12 digs and one assist. Jeremy Huynh also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

Santiago pushed their record up to 22-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Woodcrest Christian, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-4.

Coming up, Santiago will square off against Westlake at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Woodcrest Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
