Baseball Game Preview: West Vikings vs. Foothill Trojans

For the second straight game, West will face off against Foothill. The Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. West has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight defeats, while Foothill will come in with three straight wins.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for West's offense. They lost 14-0 to Foothill on Tuesday.

For Foothill's part, Ryan Segarra made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Segarra was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Foothill got a massive performance out of Gabriel Cordoba, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those three hits gave Cordoba a new career-high. Conrado Machuca was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Foothill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

West's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Foothill, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
