The Woodford County Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Male Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Monday, Woodford County got the win against Western Hills by a conclusive 13-1. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Woodford County let Jillian Watson and Addie Bryant run wild. Watson went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double, while Bryant went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Watson a new career-high. Norah Ashburn was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Woodford County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .483. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Hills only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, Male had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Warhawks.
Hannah Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Male saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrey Miller, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Woodford County pushed their record up to 17-12-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Male, their record is now 23-8.
Woodford County was able to grind out a solid victory over Male in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, winning 6-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
