The Dysart Demons will challenge the Odyssey Institute Minotaur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dysart will be strutting in after a victory while Odyssey Institute will be coming in after a defeat.
Dysart is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Kingman: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Demons blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 42-13 final score. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won four games by 26 points or more so far this season.
Dysart's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jevon Christmas, who rushed for 138 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries, and also picked up 66 receiving yards and one TD. Christmas really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Josiah Laborin was another key passer, throwing for 228 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Dysart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. They are 4-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Frank Ramirez

Dysart didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Connor Stogner, Adam Laborin, and Frank Ramirez picked up one apiece. Dysart is 2-1 when Ramirez posts one or more interceptions, but 2-3 otherwise. Bobby Franco was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Odyssey Institute fell victim to Valley Christian and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 51-0 loss at the hands of the Trojans. The Minotaur haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
The victory got Dysart back to even at 4-4. As for Odyssey Institute, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Dysart against Odyssey Institute in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 43-0 win. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Minotaur have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
