Soccer Game Preview: Battle Mountain vs. Mullen + How To Watch

The Battle Mountain Huskies will face off against the Mullen Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Battle Mountain is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.

Battle Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Pine Creek, who was ranked tenth at the time (Battle Mountain was ranked 13th). The Huskies lost 6-3 to the Eagles on Friday. It was the first time this season that Battle Mountain let down their fans at home.

They hit Pine Creek with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jakob Methvin, Carlos Gardea, and Carlos Ventura.

Meanwhile, Mullen hasn't lost a match since September 19th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They never let Lutheran get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Considering Mullen have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mullen is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-1-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those eight matches. As for Battle Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-2.
